BOTTARI - Description of the application
BOTTARI is a service which provides geo context information and social context information. The service recommends Points of Interest (POIs) with geo context information for users through augmented reality based on location and view angle of users’ smart phones (Android OS).
Geo context information includes detailed information of the POIs such as GPS coordinates, contacts, menus, price and so on, and also includes subjective information such as ambience, reviews, etc. Social context information includes reputations of POIs analysed from social media messages by machine learning. And BOTTARI is able to recommend some POIs based on the information of social context information. For these functions, there are four buttons (Figure 1). ‘For me’ to recommend POIs which can be preferred by the current user, ‘Popular’ ones which have much of positive reputations on Twitter, "Emerging" ones which is similar to "Popular" showing the most popular in the last 6 months and ‘Interesting’ ones which can be interesting to visit for the foreign visitors in Korea.

From the BOTTARI user interface, POIs are shown on the basis of the current user position. And if the menu button located left bottom in the UI is pressed, it will display some options for choosing recommendation and distance filters (shown in Figure 1).

If one of the POIs is selected, BOTTARI will display its description/introduction and the list of POIs which are near the selected POI, and there is the ‘Details’ button to query details of the POI (see Figure 2). If the button is selected, details are displayed including reputations, map and pictures (shown in Figure 3).

In the details view, the "reputation" button let the user see the details on the POI reputation (Figure 4). The reputation trends view shows monthly reputations from some perspectives of overall, taste, comfort and service using graphs displaying positive and negative messages counts.

SALTLUX was initiated as a specialized company for natural language processing. It is the best company in Korea in text mining and semantic technology.
[IN2]DOR and TMS, the integral search engine and mining engine awarded the prize of Minister of Information and Telecommunication in the new SW product grand prize on 2003. [IN2]Discovery, semantic integral search engine awarded the prize of Minister of Knowledge and Economy on March 2010. We awarded the presidential prize which is the best wining out of the companies which awarded the prized from ministers in the new SW product. We are proud that it is a unique search engine awarded the president prize after awarding the new SW prize from ministries not from the public exhibition contest.
Actually, Saltlux notified the semantic technology which was not aware by the customer in less matured market situation and was not afraid of providing the solution combined with semantic technology to the search engine, knowledge management solution, document management solution and group ware which was used in the company. That is the [IN2] Discovery which was developed in single shape by combination of every technology.
Somebody told that semantic is bluffing, there is no market, and the commercialization is difficult. And others told that pay attention on the cash cow business of integral search engine and semantic is not a company for search engine. However, semantic had drawn attention as the most powerful next generation runner in the market with distinguished function of individual search in the integral search engine. Especially, semantic reached to intensify on the technology to analyze and utilize the anomalous data not only the automatic classification/summary/grouping/extraction in the information mining technology. All of these was performed in the selective decision that semantic search engine will take a position soon as a standard search engine circulating in the market from 2003. The analysis mining technology of Saltlux makes the semantic technology as more advanced.
After long time of waiting in endurance, finally Saltlux reached to make the market structure where there is no choice without making the search engine based on semantic technology by everybody while producing a new trend in the integral search engine market. There was a big progress with the most powerful semantic search engine on 2010 when the SNS was popularized and awarded the presidential prize, the best prize.
SALTLUX, as a leading company for sharing the technology for valuable life with customer and feeling the happiness in the cooperation, launched the “semantic search engine of Discovery 2 as more developed governance for anomalous contents” in the semantic search market where every company was involved now. The final version will be completed in the beginning of coming year, but the currently distributed beta version becomes a new technology and new experience to the customer.
The Discovery of semantic is the algorithm, solution and product made from the study driven by customer needs.

‘[IN2] Discovery’, the semantic based search solution for company from Saltlux (President, Kyung-il Lee) was selected as the best SW in the year by wining the presidential prize in the part of Product Awards in the Korea SW Grand Prize on 2010.
[IN2] DISCOVERY is a product evaluated in the point that it took a lead in the market in anticipation of the development to the semantic search from the traditional integral search oriented in the company search engine market.

The president, Kyung-il Lee of Saltlux said, “the semantic web can be considered in 5 viewpoints of next generation web, knowledge expression, meta data, information processing and artificial intelligence” and “the semantic search in terms of information processing can be expressed with the keyword of connection and finding of the search based on semantic net, regulation and logic, probability and statistics evolved from the keyword search oriented to the natural language, visual language, information tacking.”
The CEO of Cycorp EU, Dr. Michael Witbrock said, “the web service adopted the weak semantic using RDFa has been increasing already and the future will be the world of more powerful level semantic for the computer and by the computer beyond the RDF” and forecasted, “the market size of semantic technology will be reached to Euro 1 billion within 5 years.”
Professor, Young Taek Park in Soongsil University presented, “framework based on artificial intelligence and application system to minimize the cognitive load which is composed of the user model automatic learning from the behavior of the mobile user, intelligent type induction and plan for intelligent system, mobile Ad-hoc network based social service and mobile user lifelog based semantic context.”
In addition, the senior researcher, Gwang Sun Choi of Saltlux presented the specific needs and utilization value for the semantic web technology through the introduction of the semantic web use case in the industrial field for the recent 2-3 years. Ruka Bradesco, the senior developer in Cycorp EU presented the LarKC project for the integral plug platform development for the large scale induction. Researcher, Tae Gil Noh from Kyungpook National University presented the creative knowledge learning in combination of the semantic web technology to the blog posting which is the social web contents.
President of Saltlux, Kyung-ill Lee emphasized,, “the age of long terms for technology development for 10 years and period of trial and error has gone after starting the web standardization of semantic web and the influential power of semantic web has been increasing in the main IT market recently.” and “various types of web ecology system will be position as the web standard using the semantic web technology within 5 years.”
This seminar was for the high technology by gathering of the specialists from the industry, academy and research field related with the semantic web and artificial intelligence in Korea.

[Journalist, Young Rae Kim, Asia Economy] Yongin City in Gyeonggi-do introduces the semantic Web which is the next generation intelligent search system as the first out of the local governments.
The semantic web established in the homepage of Yongin city was built to show the mutual relation by logical induction at a glance such as the search word related figure, department, affairs, and petition document format according to the search word required by the citizen on the information contained in the homepage.

The [IN2] Discovery in SALTLUX (President, Kyung-il Lee) is the semantic integrated search engine based on the relation of meaning, concept and information for the company. This engine was developed based on the 2.0 technology, platform virtualization technology, text mining, and ontology, semantic technology with availability of induction and knowledge virtualization technology.

In addition, extra large diffused search is available for more than 1 billion cases through the platform virtualization technology. It supports even the balanced use for the internal and external knowledge by find the hidden knowledge in the information appeared in the surface.
[IN2] Discovery has been used for high level search system in diversified fields across the semantic based geographical information service, social network analysis, technology trend analysis and civil petition information semantic search by introduction to the National Geographical Information Institute, President Recording Hall, Yongin city hall, Samsung Electronics and KT.
The president of Saltlux, Kyung-il Lee said, “the information is linked mutually in the result from Saltlux search as differently with conventional keyword search and it shall provide the integral analysis function for the different natured spread information’ and stressed, ‘the [IN2] Discovery is the semantic search engine in genuine meaning which strengthened the connection and analysis not only the precision ratio and reproducibility ratio which were pursued by the conventional search engine.”
Saltlux will harden the position of ranking 1st of semantic search for company by launching at the 2nd half of the year ‘[IN2] Discovery 2.0’ which was strengthened in functions of external information mesh up and semantic search function.
Semantic web conference 2009 will be held on December 4. At this conference where the industry, science and research people related to the semantic web technology will get together will discuss on the practical application cases under the theme of "Semantic Web: Where Are We?" At the conference participants will share the common utilization case information on from computer science to oriental herbal medicine and also discuss where the business go forward from the present status.

Saltlux Inc, one of the world leaders in information mining and semantic search solution market, announced that the company has made an agreement with Japanese UFIT, specified in the information process lead by Takeda Yoshihiko for the supply of integrated search and mining engine and business cooperation.
Saltlux supplied search and mining engine will be loaded on ‘Knowledge-On’, a next generation groupware developed by UFIT. ‘Knowledge-On’ is a SaaS type hybrid groupware that incorporates portal function with a groupware that promotes share and utilization of in-company knowledge information. ‘Knowledge-On’ also enables information linkage through uploading of functions such as workflow, file management, mail, blog, etc to the principle function.
This project of UFIT will be developing the functions for mobile, API extension, SFA and CRM as a information sharing based service beyond the limited groupware and targeting 100 thousand service users.
This will be strengthening the productivity and efficiency in information sharing and utilization through text mining functions such as analysis of search results, automatic classification/summarization/clustering in addition to quantitative integrated search through [integration of Saltlux’s [IN2]DOR, an integrated search engine and TMS, a mining engine for the information process of widely distributed large amount of data.

Since [IN2]SearchBox was awarded Grand Prix of the Venture Part at the ‘INTEROP Tokyo 2009’ last June, Saltlux plans to cooperate development of the product forward to the next generation enterprise communication platform with the integration of ‘Knowledge-On’ to Saltlux’s semantic and knowledge network analysis technology.
